Course Description
The TED 531 Student Teaching Seminar integrates theory and practical approaches to situations experienced by candidates during their Student Teaching experience. Content areas include: (l) School/Classroom Culture and Professional Responsibilities, (2) Learning Environment and Classroom Management, (3) Assessment and Evaluation, (4) Lesson Design and Differentiated Instruction.
Learning Outcomes
- Analyze the factors contributing to increased student learning by understanding the school culture. (MCA l)
- Analyze the professional responsibilities of a teacher required to meet the learning needs of all students. (MCA 1)
- Apply ways to optimize the learning opportunities for students through the use of appropriate strategies that address the special needs of children with diverse abilities, language, culture, background, learning styles, and interests. (MCA 2)

- Create a positive climate by recognizing the broad goals of student misbehavior, motivational
factors, choice, and consequences. (MCA 2)
- Evaluate ways to assess student learning by identifying and using multiple assessment measures. (MCA 3)
- Develop and implement lesson plans that teach State adopted curriculum standards, provide accommodations and modifications for students with exceptionalities, English language learners, at-risk students, and gifted students. (MCA 4)
