EXC632 Instruct For Secondary LD/BD

Course Description

This course will prepare teachers to develop and implement education programs that meet the needs of adolescents and young adults, with or without disabilities, placed in special facilities, who require individual education plans.

  • Select prevention and intervention strategies for individuals at risk of emotional/behavioral disorders from multiple theoretical approaches for integrating student initiated learning experiences into ongoing instruction for individuals with emotional/behavioral disorders. BD4K4; BD4K5; BD4S1
  • Choose a variety of nonaversive techniques to control targeted behavior and maintain attention of individuals with emotional/behavioral disorders. BD4S2
  • Create learning environments that allow individuals to retain and appreciate their own and each other’s respective language and cultural heritage. CC5K8
