Course Description
This course is a supervised experience culminating in the completion of a thesis. The student prepares a research proposal, obtains Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval, conducts the study and prepares the written thesis. This class is scheduled for 2 months, meets once a week and at the end of that time a grade of “IP” will be posted then the maximum length of time is 10 additional months. Grading is H, S, or U only.
Learning Outcomes
- Utilize appropriate research procedures in developing a research proposal that can be applied to the educational environment in the student’s chosen field.
- Follow University Policy and Procedures related to Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval prior to conducting research.
- Demonstrate graduate level research skills in preparing a written thesis (Chapter 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) using APA form and style.
