EXC655I Internship Induction Seminar
Course Description
This is a required course for credential students participating in an approved Internship program. Each intern will develop An Individual Induction Plan. Interns will receive classroom based support and evaluation over a minimum of 6 months as they complete the credential program. This course is added to the candidate’s schedule upon starting the internship program and is normally scheduled over a 2 month period. Grading is S or U only.
Learning Outcomes
- Complete a self-assessment and write a reflection outlining strengths and areas of needed growth.
- Create a prioritized list of professional goals to be included on an Individual Induction Plan.
- Review and discuss the IEP process implemented in the intern candidate’s special education setting.
- Develop and submit a classroom management plan to be implemented in the candidate’s special education setting.
- Design and implement an Evidence-Based Project (EBP) that will document K-12 student progress through the use of effective instructional practices in a specific content or behavioral area.
- Prepare a professional portfolio that complies with the requirements for Level I credential program.
