The theories, principles, and concepts related to leadership, administration, and management applied to education. Application and implications of theory for the instructional leader and education-related manager.
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of research regarding leadership theory and practice.
- Examine the role of the leader in a variety of educational settings.
- Be able to apply theoretical and practical perspectives to ethical decision-making.
- Understand how to apply the roles of administrators/managers in group processes.
- Demonstrate knowledge of multi-cultural and gender sensitive issues of leadership.
- Be able to differentiate between short and long range needs led by a vision of learning.
- Understand how to apply effective leadership communication skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge and effective skills necessary to resolve conflicts.
