Course Description

This program combines Administrative Professional Career Training with the Microsoft Office 2007 Master program to give students unmatched training as Administrative Professionals. In addition to teaching administrative skills, this program prepares students for Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) Master certification.  240 hours.

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:

  • Identify changes that are occurring in the workplace.
  • Define common types of business organizational structures.
  • Determine major challenges confronting both management and administrative professionals.
  • Explain crucial skills and qualities for an administrative professional.
  • Determine how an effective administrative professional sets goals and makes decisions.
  • Identify virtual workplace considerations including personal characteristics, virtual workforce skills, and challenges.
  • Describe an effective work environment for virtual workers.
  • Describe the personal characteristics and work characteristics that contribute to a positive professional image.
  • Identify the components of a professional appearance.
  • Understand the conventions of business etiquette.
  • Determine the effects of stress in the workplace
  • Compose written communications.
  • Apply characteristics of effective correspondence.
  • Apply appropriate planning and writing guidelines.
  • Engage in collaborative writing and research.
  • Identify elements of effective verbal communication
  • Create and format professional business documents including mail merges, web pages and interactive forms
  • Create and edit formulas, audit equations, and present information in charts and tables
  • Create and edit Outlook objects such as e-mail, meetings, tasks and contacts
  • Create and modify slide presentations including editing graphics, formatting text and text boxes, animating objects and transitions

Exam 77-602: Microsoft ® Excel 2007
Exam 77-603: Microsoft ® PowerPoint 2007
Exam 77-604: Microsoft ® Outlook 2007
