Enterprise Architecture Certification Programs
The Federal Government requires Enterprise Architecture certifications in either Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEA[F]) and/or Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
National University, in conjunction with the Federal Enterprise Architecture Certification (FEAC) Institute, provides training and education leading to certification in FEA[F] and DoDAF. National University offers students the opportunity to earn either continuing education units (CEUs) or graduate academic credit. Students who take the classes for graduate credit can apply the units to the online Master of Science Degree in Engineering Management or Master of Science Degree in Systems Engineering.
DoDAF
The FEAC DoDAF EA hands-on curriculum teaches students how to develop an EA using each of the core and supporting DoDAF views along with how they relate to the GIG, JCIDS, NCOW, CADM, DARS, DISR, Portfolio Mgt. and other important aspects of DOD requirements. The relationship to other EA frameworks are also taught.
Over the course of the program students produce a comprehensive practicum on actual architectural projects for their services, agencies, organizations or customers. Our expert DoDAF practitioner faculty mentor students to ensure that the overall EA is developed where each DoDAF product view created can be used as actual deliverable in a real world engagement.
The FEAC DoDAF practitioner program is delivered in blended or mixed mode combining three in-class sessions (two and a half weeks over a period of 10-12 weeks) with online learning for a total of 200 contact hours.
In addition to students receiving either CEUs or graduate academic credit that can be applied toward an MS in Engineering Management or Systems Engineering, those who are certified by PMI receive 200 PDU (professional development units) toward re-certification.
The FEA[F] program addresses:
- Concepts: regulations, theories, principles, methodology, and views
- Planning: creating Enterprise Architecture understanding and awareness
- Implementation: internal implementation, marketing, and managing change
- Integration of: business, data, application, and technology
