Course Description
LAN Switching & Wireless I provides a comprehensive, theoretical, and practical approach to learning the technologies and protocols needed to design and implement a converged switched network. Students learn about the hierarchical network design model and how to select devices for each layer. Students will focus on how to configure a switch for basic functionality, how to implement virtual LANs, and VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP). Topics include: LAN Design, Basic Switch Concepts and Configuration; VLANs and VTP.
2.25 quarter units; $525
Each course meets twice a week for four weeks ending with a Saturday session for the final.
