IST1823X Proactive Behavior Management

Course Description

As an extension of Decoding Student Behavior, this 4 hour workshop emphasizes proactive behavior management strategies for addressing student misbehavior. Participants explore antecedent control, environmental factors, and positive and negative reinforcement strategies. Participants identify behavior monitoring and student self-monitoring tools, identify reinforcement schedules for shaping desired behavior, and construct a classroom-wide model with monitoring procedures.
