PSY609 Psychopathology

Course Description

This course explores relevant theory and research on the etiology and treatment of psychological disorders. Students are encouraged to critically evaluate the role of neurobiology, culture, and social context in the evaluation of mental disorders.

Learning Outcomes

  • Evaluate observational, clinical, and epidemiologic research approaches in psychopathology research.
  • Analyze current research on the biological bases of psychopathology.
  • Synthesize alternative explanations of psychopathology.
  • Critically evaluate the role of neurobiology, culture, and social context in the evaluation of mental disorders.
