Course Description

A survey of basic science behind turf management and the application of sustainable technologies in golf facility management.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand basic turf grass science and apply that knowledge to an environmentally sensitive golf facility.
  • Discuss and apply basic concepts such as mowing, watering, aeration, and fertilizing.
  • Discuss and explain the value of rotating tee-markers, cup placements, and limiting play.
  • Explain basic pest control techniques and other golf course management with respect to environmental issues.
