Dr. Ismail M. Sebetan

Professor College of Letters and Sciences

He is currently a Professor and Lead Faculty of the Forensic Sciences Program at National University, La Jolla, California. He holds MD degree and a Master degree in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, from Tanta University Faculty of Medicine, Tanta, Egypt and a PhD degree from Tohoku University School of Medicine, Sendai, Japan. Extensive experience in forensic sciences including teaching experience, practice and research for over 40 years. His research interests include Forensic Medicine/Pathology, Forensic Serology & DNA, Forensic Anthropology and Forensic Toxicology resulting in more than 155 peer reviewed scientific publications and presentations cited in major forensic, genetics and Anthropology journals and textbooks. He also has administrative experiences during his long forensic science career acting as the former Chair of Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, and since 1999, his current position with National University.
