Frank Montesonti holds a BA in English from Indiana University, an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona, and an MA in Rhetoric and Composition from San Diego State University. His collection of poems Blight, Blight, Blight, Ray of Hope won the 2011 Barrow Street Book Contest, and his second book Hope Tree is forthcoming from Black Lawrence Press. His poems have appeared in such journals as Black Warrior Review, AQR, Cream City Review, Poet Lore, Lit, among many others. His chapbook, A Civic Pageant, won the 2007 Black River Chapbook contest. He teaches primarily in the MFA Creative Writing program, and coordinates the student literary journal the GNU.
