Annette Cyr obtained her MFA in Painting from Yale University and her BA in Painting from the University of California at Santa Barbara, in the selective College of Creative Studies. She attended Censier and the Sorbonne, in Paris and was awarded a full scholarship to the prestigious Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Cyr has been awarded grants from Yale University (tuition and The Winternitz Fellowship), the National Endowment for the Arts, Art Matters, Inc., New York State Cultural Affairs (NYSCA) and the Brooklyn Arts Council and residency fellowships at Yaddo, MacDowell Colony, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Hambridge and Dorland art colonies. She exhibits her paintings nationally. Her short films have been screened internationally in Eastern Canada and nationally in Southern California and New York City. At National, Cyr is lead faculty of Art, coordinating the Art, Film and Music courses in the San Diego region. She lives and works in San Diego and New York City.
