Course Description

An advanced course for students who want to explore more sophisticated writing genres. The course surveys techniques in writing one or more genres, at the discretion of the instructor: short fiction, drama, poetry and screen writing.

Learning Outcomes

  • Read and assess writing models for issues of form and content.
  • Edit one another's work line by line and offer verbal and written critiques.
  • Write an effective piece within the mode(s) studied that evidences attention to craft and to methods of organization.
