Course Description

This laboratory course continues to develop student skills in idiomatic and conversational forms of speech, and proficiency. The course makes use of Chinese in film and radio where the student prepares written reports delivered orally based on the presented materials.

Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate in context the difference between standard and dialectic spoken Chinese.
  • Apply grammar rules to relatively complex spoken Chinese.
  • Communicate orally in everyday situations.
  • Apply new vocabulary in context.
  • Deepen understanding of Chinese culture and society.
