Course Description

This course continues to develop student skills in idiomatic and conversational forms of speech, proficiency in moderately complex written structures. The course makes use of Chinese in film and radio where the student prepares written reports based on the presented materials.

Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate in context the difference between standard and dialectic spoken Chinese.
  • Apply grammar rules to relatively complex written and spoken Chinese.
  • Communicate orally and in writing in everyday situations.
  • Apply new vocabulary in context.
  • Deepen understanding of Chinese culture and society.
