Course Description

This laboratory course allows the learner to apply in verbal form the rules of grammar in standard spoken Chinese. This course enhances the student's proficiency in standard spoken Chinese. Emphasis is given to both formal and informal Chinese.

Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate in context the difference between standard and dialectic spoken Chinese.
  • Apply grammar rules to relatively simple spoken Chinese.
  • Communicate orally in relatively simple everyday situations.
  • Write and read simple sentences describing presented material.
  • Apply new vocabulary in context.
  • Deepen understanding of Chinese culture and society.
