CHN101 Beginning Chinese II

Course Description

This course is a sequel to the beginning course in Modern Standard Chinese (MSC). The course includes an introduction to the basic parts of a Chinese sentence and the basic written Chinese phrases for oral and reading comprehension.

Learning Outcomes

  • Interpret basic spoken Chinese phrases for oral comprehension.
  • Interpret basic written Chinese phrases for reading comprehension.
  • Recognize constituent parts of a simple Chinese sentence.
  • Use common Chinese terms orally in situational context.
  • Deepen understanding of Chinese culture and society.
