ARB400 Advanced Arabic Conversation

Course Description
This course develops students' skills in conversational and idiomatic forms of speech. It is based on contemporary literary usage conducted entirely in Arabic. The course is a combination of lecture, discussion, exercises, and communicative language activities based on written text. Basic syntactic patterns and vocabulary will be consolidated.

- Exhibit further developed skills in idiomatic and conversational forms of speech.
- Demonstrate their understanding of contemporary literary usage conducted entirely in Arabic.
- Demonstrate, an advanced level, their Translation skills of non-technical texts from Arabic to English and vice versa.
- Consolidate, at an advanced level, syntactic patterns and vocabulary.
- Write reports on film and radio materials presented.
