2015 – National University Honors Law Enforcement and Public Safety Community

Aug. 21 Event highlights many outstanding University alumni who are dedicated to serving their communities

San Diego, Calif. – Aug. 17, 2015 – National University, the second largest private, nonprofit university in California, will recognize law enforcement and public safety groups Aug. 21 at Petco park during the San Diego Padres vs. St. Louis Cardinals game. The event, with a special focus on University alumni who have served or are serving their communities as members of various agencies, is an opportunity to thank these public servants who are dedicated to supporting safe and secure communities.

More than National University 300 alumni and guests from throughout Southern California are expected to attend the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Appreciation Day event, which is among a series of recognition events the University is hosting through its special partnership with the San Diego Padres that makes the University the exclusive higher education partner of the team. Previous events organized through the partnership have included special recognitions for teachers and the military, which are also part of the San Diego-based University’s core student population.

Among National University’s many alumni who have gone on to hold prominent roles in law enforcement and public safety groups are:

  • National City Police Chief, Manuel Rodriguez
  • Port of San Diego, VP of Public Safety, John A. Bolduc
  • Stockton Police Chief, Eric Jones
  • Oakland Fire Chief, Teresa Deloach Reed
  • San Diego Deputy Fire Chief, Lorraine Hutchinson

Many more National University alumni throughout the state, and country, have held or currently hold top leadership positions in law enforcement and public safety in their communities.
