National University Marketing Professor Michael Becker Receives National Award for Education Leadership Contributions

 San Diego, Calif. - Oct. 21, 2014 – Michael Becker, a Professor of Mobile Marketing at National University, has been named the 2014 recipient of the Marketing Edge Edward N. Mayer Jr. Education Leadership Award. Mr. Becker was recognized for his instrumental role in the growth of the mobile marketing field and for his tireless efforts educating students, professionals and consumers on marketing best practices. Becker, who will formally accept the national award Oct. 25 in San Diego, teaches in the School of Business and Management at National University, the 2nd largest private, nonprofit university in California.

National University Awarded $2.1 Million to Expand its Successful Retention Model

 San Diego, Calif. - Oct. 16, 2014 In recognition of its student retention best practices that include programs serving veterans, National University has been awarded a $2.1 million federal grant to expand on the successes of its current support services for at-risk students. The prestigious grant to the 2nd largest private nonprofit university in California comes from the U.S. Department of Education/Office of Postsecondary Education Strengthening Institutions Program. It will fund the development of the Pathways for Achieving Student Success program (PASS).

 San Diego, Calif. – Sept. 25, 2014 – Marking a 14-year tradition that affirms National University’s leadership in teacher training, National University, the second-largest private, nonprofit university in California, has once again prepared more teachers for credentialing on an annual basis than any other single institution of higher education in the state, according to figures released by the Commission on Teaching Credentialing (CTC).

Grand Opening of Sanford Education Center at National University Marks National Expansion of Programs Benefitting Nonprofit and Education Sectors
National University, the 2nd largest private, nonprofit institution of higher education in California, announces the grand opening of the Sanford Education Center and the national expansion of research-based initiatives aimed at empowering nonprofit leaders, educators and others serving the public good. The Center is made possible through the generous support of philanthropist and businessman Denny Sanford. Also part of today's grand opening, National University is announcing three key milestones. The University is collaborating with Long Island University to expand to the East Coast the Sanford Harmony Program, which encourages positive relationships between girls and boys at the Pre-K through 6th grade. In addition, elements of the Sanford Inspire Program have been incorporated into National University's own teacher programs, and the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy is expected to launch a Master of Arts Degree in Cause Leadership in Spring 2015.
