Core values in action.
Community service is among the six core values of National University. It is enthusiastically supported by University leadership and commonly practiced by faculty and staff.
"It has always been my goal to engage the University and foster among staff, faculty, students and alumni the experience of contributing to something larger than one's self," says National University System Chancellor Dr. Jerry C. Lee.
Through Dr. Lee's vision, National University has become a major contributor to programs addressing domestic violence in California. The University plays an active role in promoting public awareness about the causes of domestic violence while striving to minimize its impact on individuals, families and communities.
In alignment with its core values and its commitment to community collaboration, National University provides eligible employees with paid time off for community service. Staff and faculty receive up to 16 hours per year to contribute toward the charitable cause of their choice.
