SOET REVISES BS IN COMPUTER SCIENCE PROGRAM
Revisions are aligned with ABET criteria for program accreditation
The School of Engineering and Technology's Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program has been completely revised in order to align with the program accreditation criteria of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
"Our goal is to meet all of the criteria in order to earn accreditation by the first half of 2009," said SOET Dean Howard Evans, Ph.D.
"We have added more science and math programs to the curricula," said SOET Associate Professor Alireza Farahani, Ph.D., who is lead faculty for the BS in Computer Science program. In order to keep the program "relevant and updated," Professor Farahani says that courses have been added in algorithm design, routing algorithms and coding related networking. "There is also a new course in mobile technologies and application development," he added.
