36 Percent of SD County Teacher of the Year Nominees are National University Alumni

An impressive 36 percent of the nominees for 2005-06 San Diego County Teacher of the Year were National University alumni. 

The annual San Diego County Teacher of the Year event was held on October 8, 2005, at 7:00 p.m., at Civic Theatre, downtown San Diego.  Sixteen of the 45 nominees earned either their teaching credential, their bachelor's degree or their master's degree at National University.  They are as follows:

This year, a National University student, Keith Koelzer, was named San Diego County Teacher of the Year (see related story). The announcement was made Saturday, October 8 at the annual production of "Cox Presents A Salute to Teachers" black-tie gala. National University is an annual sponsor of the event, which is televised live on Cox Ch. 4, The production has won eight Emmy Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Keith Koelzer continues what has become a tradition for National University alumni. In the previous 10 years, five National University alumni have been named San Diego County Teacher of the Year.
