Alumni Town Hall Meeting Receives High Marks from Attendees
Event is lauded as 'very engaging'
National University's 1st National University Alumni "Reconnect Event" of the new academic year attracted a diverse crowd of alumni, students, faculty and administrators on November 9. Guests ranged from an alumnus in the Class of 1974 to current students.
The well-attended event, billed as a "post-election town hall meeting," was held at the elegant Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine. When evaluating the evening afterward, alumni described it as "very engaging" in an "intimate setting." One alumnus, who hadn't been to a National University event in almost 20 years, said he was impressed with the quantity and quality of fellow alumni who were present.
San Diego radio talk show host and former mayor Roger Hedgecock lead a discussion of the previous evening's election results and answered several questions about the challenges facing new San Diego Mayor and National University alumnus Jerry Sanders.
"We really enjoyed the civics lesson this evening," commented one of the attendees.
