Robert W. Ferguson, Jr.
Robert W. Ferguson, Jr. (MA, Management 2000) was appointed as cabinet secretary of the West Virginia Department of Administration earlier this year by West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin III. Mr. Ferguson is a 22-year Marine Corps veteran who served combat duty during Operation Desert Storm. From 1991 to 1994 he was in command of all Marine recruiters in West Virginia.
Gilbert Clark (BS, 2005) is a 2005 Microsoft Education Award Laureate. Mr. Clark is project manager/director of the Telescopes in Education (TIE) Foundation of the Mt. Wilson Institute, which provides free remote access to telescopes to K-14 students and educators around the world. Mr. Clark has also received the 1996 NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Award for Excellence, and the JPL NOVA Award for his work on TIE. He also has an asteroid named in his honor.
Frank Phillips (BBA, 1987) has been promoted by BAE Systems,Inc. to Chief Engineer of its Northeast Engineering Development Center in Rome, New York. Mr. Phillips, who moved from Escondido to assume his new responsibilities, now oversees several Chief Engineers on various projects. He has been with BAE for two years, and was previously Principal Systems Engineer with Vitria Technology.
Zak Ruvalcaba, (MS, Instructional Technology, 2000) is the author of Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 Unleashed. Mr. Ruvalcaba is founder and president of Module Media, a media development and training firm in San Diego. He teaches and gives design lectures on various technologies and tools, including Dreamweaver, Flash, and ASP.NET, for the San Diego Community College District.
James R. Falkner (MBA, 1980) is Chief Executive Officer of Kansas Masonic Home in Wichita, Kansas, the first long term care facility in Midcare's central U.S. hospice region to be certified for hospice services using its own internal staff. Previously, hospice services had traditionally been provided in nursing homes by independent companies under contract with MR. Falkner's company.
