Clear Credential Courses
Computer-based Technology in the Classroom
This course is designed to give students the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to operate and integrate microcomputers effectively in an educational environment.
Health Education for Teachers
This course is designed to enable teacher candidates to integrate health instruction throughout the curriculum and to create school environments that promote healthful living. This course satisfies the CTC health education requirements for a Professional Clear Credential under the Ryan Act but does not meet the health requirements for SB2042.
Certificate Programs in Allied Health
Many of the fastest growing occupations are concentrated in the allied health field. The U.S. Department of Labor projects a 25 percent increase in the number of health care jobs between now and 2010. To meet this demand, the Division of Extended Learning, in partnership with the California Medical Institute, is offering four certificate programs to prepare students for a career in the health care field. The programs follow a one-course-per-month format, which allows students to enter the field in less than a year.
The programs include:
- Alcohol and Drug Counselor
- Pharmacy Technician
- Orthopedic Technician
- Medical Billing, Coding and Administration
The Institute for Persons Who Are Hard of Hearing or Deaf
These programs enhance the knowledge of professionals providing educational, clinical, and vocational services for infants, children, and youth who are hard of hearing or deaf, as well as their families.
Course offerings which were developed by national experts in the field and are offered online, include:
· Introductory and Intermediate Sign Language
· Practical Communication
· Creative Communication
· Entrepreneurship
Certificate Programs:
· Improving Early Hearing Detection and Intervention for Infants and Young Children (Birth to Five Years)
