Results of the January 2006 National University Alumni Survey are available, providing the Department of Advancement and Alumni Relations with valuable data that will help the University to meet alumni needs and shape future alumni services and events.
When asked what convinced alumni to enroll at National University, 83 percent said that they attributed their decision to the accelerated one-course-per-month format.
More than three-quarters of alumni surveyed said that they would recommend National University to others, and almost 75 percent said that they are now working in their field of study.
Eighty-four percent said that earning a degree at National University enhanced their career success.
Regarding alumni communications, almost three of every four alumni have seen and/or read the Newswire in the past 12 months, making it the most widely-recognized communications medium.
Just over half of the alumni surveyed reported that they have had at least some contact with the University since graduating. More than two-thirds said that they are interested in reconnecting in some way.
A sizable portion of alumni indicated interest in mentoring a current student, participating in a panel discussion, attending a networking event with a faculty member, or participating in community service activities sponsored by the University.
The most sought after alumni service is job placement, especially for the most recent graduates. Almost half of all respondents (49 percent) selected this category. Library privileges was another popular program. A more detailed review of the 2006 alumni survey will be published in Vision magazine, National University's annual alumni magazine, which will be mailed in June.
