VeriTrak CEO Dean Lane was previously senior IT director at Symantec, and served as CIO at Allied-Signal, Morton Thiokol and Plantronics.

Class Notes

Dean Lane (MBA, 1979) has been named CEO of VariTrak.  Mr. Lane has also published a book, "CIO Wisdom: Best Practices from Silicon Valley." All proceeds from the book go to the CIO Scholarship Fund, set up by a group of Silicon Valley CIOs to provide tuition to underprivileged students pursuing a career in IT.

Tanya Anderson (BBA, 2001)  has developed a student success curriculum at Heald College in Stockton, that has helped to improve student retention. Ms. Anderson, who was Heald College's 2005 Teacher of the Year, is also certified in all of the Microsoft Office Specialist Exams.

Chris Moore (BS, Computer Science, 1999) has published a technical book titled "HP-UX 11i Internals." HP-UX is Hewlett Packard's Unix operating system.  The book goes into detail of the design and implementation of the operating system, specifically the 11i version.

Nathan Dominguez (BS, Information Technology, 2004) is Quality Network Engineer for CardinalHealth. The company, which is currently ranked 16th in the Fortune 500, recently acquired two smaller companies in San Diego, which is where Mr. Dominguez now works.

Pao Nupaul Fang (MPA, 2000) is President of the Sacramento Lao Family Community, a position to which he has been voted for the past two years. Mr. Fang owns his own livestock business in the Wilton community of greater Sacramento.

Suzanne Moreno-Alvarado (M.Ed., 2000) is President/CEO of Encourage Tomorrow, a non-profit organization that provides educational programs to at-risk youth and their families in Fresno. For her efforts, Ms. Moreno was awarded the Outstanding Leadership Award from Assemblyman Juan Arambula last September.

Kevin Metcalf (GMBA, 2000) was recently selected as the Avionics Product Center Manager of Product Assurance at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space Company in Sunnyvale California. He also earned a Superior Performance award from Lockheed Martin.

Thomas M. Mitchell (BS, Information Technology, 1997) has published "A Practical Guide to Securing and Managing the Wireless Network." He has also had a number of white papers published on IT Security. Mr. Mitchell is presently employed with CA  (formerly know as Computer Associates International) in Winchester, California.
