Alumna Named District Teacher of the Year in Golden Valley

Kate Povletich (MS Ed., 2000), a High School social studies teacher at Golden Valley High School in Santa Clarita, California was announced as the District Teacher of the Year last fall, by the William S. Hart Union High School District Governing Board.

Ms. Povletich is the social studies department chair, senior class advisor and a member of the professional development team. she teaches Advanced Placement (AP) world history, U.S. History, government and economics.

The National University alumna holds national board certification and started teaching at Golden Valley in 2004, following seven years teaching at Arroyo Seco Junior High, where she was a past recipient of the teacher of the year award.
