Alumnus Named Chief of National City Police

Alumnus Manuel Rodriguez (MS, Organizational Leadership, 2007) was appointed Chief of the National City Police Department in March.

His appointment followed the retirement of alumnus Adolfo Gonzales (BPA, 1986) to accept a position as chief of the Dan Diego County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation.

Rodriguez spent 20 years with the San Diego Police Department, working his way up to special assistant to the chief of police. In 2005 he became a captain for the National City Police Department, and was promoted to assistant police chief in 2007.
