Alumnus Named Chief of District Attorney's Bureau of Investigation
Alumnus Adolfo Gonzales (BPA, 1986) retired as Chief of the National City Police Department in March, in order to accept a position as chief of the Dan Diego County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation.
Gonzales now oversees a staff that includes 116 district attorney investigators, 47 public assistance fraud investigators and 13 process servers. Gonzales is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the 2006 National Latino Peace Officers Association Leadership Award.
Replacing Gonzales as Chief of the National City Police Department is alumnus Manuel Rodriguez (MS, Organizational Leadership, 2007). He spent 20 years with the San Diego Police Department, working his way up to special assistant to the chief of police. In 2005 he became a captain for the National City Police Department, and was promoted to assistant police chief in 2007.
