Soledad Unified School District Hires Alumna as Superintendent

Alumna Rupi Boyd (MS, Ed. Admin, 1997) has been hired as superintendent of the Soledad Unified School District in Central California’s Salinas Valley.

Boyd most recently served as instructional superintendent in a turnaround capacity with three of the Los Angeles Unified School District’s lowest performing schools. Prior to that, she was Area 3 Superintendent for the San Diego Unified School District, supporting and supervising 20 charter schools within the district.

According to Carl Cohn, a member of the California State Board of Education, “Rupi is an extraordinary school transformation specialist who gets results under the most challenging circumstances. In San Diego Unified, she dramatically improved student performance at both an elementary and middle school that other leaders had given up on.”
