Daniel P. Donaldson named as Dean of the School of Professional Studies
National University has named Dr. Daniel P. Donaldson as Dean of the School of Professional Studies.
Dr. Donaldson earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in geography from California State University, Fullerton. His Ph.D. in Geography is from Kent State University; his dissertation evaluated the use of multimedia technology in geography education in middle schools.
In addition to serving as a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Central Oklahoma, Dr. Donaldson has held a number of administrative positions, including serving as the Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Central Oklahoma. He has also served as the Assistant Vice President for Professional and Distance Education at that institution for several years.
Most recently, Dr. Donaldson served as the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at Park University in Kansas City, Missouri. His numerous publications and presentations are in the field of geography, including teaching geography through literature, and the use of geographic information systems. He has also made presentations regarding providing academic services for online course excellence, the development and use of faculty ePortfolios, and similar topics. He has been involved in regional accreditation and strategic planning in Missouri as well as Oklahoma.
