Cyber Security Information Assurance Initiative Earns Industry Award
National University and its Cyber Secruity Information Assurance initiative will be recognized by The Security Newtwork with the organization's 2011 Chairman's "Fostering Innovation through Collaboration" Award.
"We are pleased to honor tha ccomplishments and dedication of this select group of individuals and organizations actively promoting collaboration and technology development on a multilateral basis," said Michael Jones, Chairman and CEO of the Security Network.
The Security Network advances security by “Fostering Innovation through Collaboration” worldwide. It is a non-profit, non-partisan, San Diego, California-based organization that promotes two goals: (1) the rapid commercialization of dual-usage security technologies from around the world; and (2) the development of effective regional security.
National University has been an active supporter and sponsor of The Security Network since 2007, primarily through the School of Engineering and Technology. It offers a number of programs in the defense and security space fields, including a Master of Science degree in Homeland Security and Safety Engineering, multiple military programs, and a graduate certificate in Security and Safety Engineering.
In 2010 National University embarked upon an ambitious program to develop the first National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security-approved Natonal Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAE/IAE) and CAE-Research (CAE-R) in San Diego County. The CSIA Initiative has spread across San Diego and the nation to bring together interested stakeholders to promote the establishment of this important center.
Recognition for National University and its CSIA Initiative will take place at The Security Network's 8th Annual Security Summit, held March 22-23 at the Courtyard by Marriott, Liberty Station in San Diego, California.
