Dr. Heveron Named National University Provost

Eileen Heveron, Ph.D. was promoted in June from Vice President of Information Technology to the position of Provost of National University. She succeeded Tom Green, Ph.D., who returned to the faculty after two years of service as Provost.

Dr. Heveron brought to her new position more than 25 years of experience in higher education in a variety of administrative positions including registrar at Western State University College of Law, assistant dean at the Claremont Graduate University, a development staff member at Cal Tech, and as assistant to the president at the University of Maryland.

Dr. Heveron also served as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Business for National Louis University in McLean, Virginia. Prior to joining National University, she was Executive Director for the Administrative Systems Project for the University of Missouri System. She has held positions in the government sector as Senior Director for Technology Industry Development and Director of Intellectual Resources at the Center for Innovative Technology in Virginia, where she was the liaison to the state’s research universities, state colleges and community colleges. In the private sector, she served as Manager of Consulting and Manager of Client Support Services for Datatel.

Dr. Heveron earned a Ph.D. at the Claremont Graduate University, her master’s degree at the University of Redlands’ Whitehead College and an undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine. She currently serves on two visiting teams for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). She has also served as a state and national level examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award program.

There have been numerous achievements at National University under Dr. Heveron’s direction and leadership as Vice President of Information Technology, including the implementation of SOAR, an upgrade of network and voice systems, the moving of the University’s data center, and the introduction of a variety of policies and IT governance best practices that have ensured a safe and secure environment for students, staff and faculty.
