National University Selected as "Military Friendly School"
National University has been selected by G.I. Jobs magazine as a “Military Friendly School for 2010.” This honor, according to the publication, places National University in the top 15 percent of all schools nationwide.
G.I.Jobs is considered a premier source for those transitioning from military duty to the private sector, providing education, transition assistance, and job opportunities for veterans. In addition to its recognition of colleges and universities, the publication ranks companies that are vet-friendly and promotes attributes that veterans bring to the private workplace.
Along with its published listing of National University as a “Military Friendly School,” G.I.Jobs also presented the University with a plaque, recognizing the important role it plays in supporting current and former military personnel.
A statement on the plaque proclaims that “Your steadfast commitment to educating our great nation’s military veterans will enable the United States to prosper for generations to come.” The plaque is currently on display at National University administrative headquarters in La Jolla.
National University enjoys a distinguished and enduring reputation for its
commitment to military education. It is a past winner of the prestigious Ray
Ehrensberger Award for Institutional Excellence in Military Education, and
was named one of America’s Top Military Friendly Colleges and Universities
by Military Advanced Education magazine this year.
Additionally, Douglas Barr, associate regional dean for military students at
National University, is a recipient of the William Kennedy Award by the Council
of Colleges and Military Educators for outstanding service in military education.
