National University alumni are invited to attend the San Diego Association of Black Journalists' Sixth Annual Scholarship Reception, Friday, April 4, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at National University's Spectrum Academic Center, 9388 Lightwave Ave., San Diego, CA 92123 Tickets are $35.
Each year since 2005, National University and SDABJ have presented a four-year scholarship to National University's School of Media and Communication to a worthy recipient, along with a laptop computer and access to a mentor and tutors.
"Personally, this Scholarship has meant a world of opportunity for me and is helping me to realize my professional goals," said 2006 recipient Melvin Parker, who is currently on track to earn his degree in December 2009. "The faculty, the facilities and the resources provided by National University have all been way above average, and have opened incredible doors for me to the fields of media and journalism."
