Course Description
Theoretical and practical framework for supervising and evaluating instruction. A variety of theoretical perspectives and skills for engaging in the practice of supervision of instruction, curriculum assessment, program quality, and standards-based instruction. Emphasis on instructional leadership in maintaining and increasing teaching effectiveness provided through relevant professional development opportunities.

The goals of EDA 624 are to develop instructional leaders who engage in curriculum and instruction decision-making using theory, professional development, budget, human resources, and evaluation strategies to effectively lead a staff to educate all students, including those with diverse cultural and language backgrounds. The course enables candidates to become effective supervisors and evaluators of teaching and learning, to understand the role of professional development in improving teaching and learning.
