Course Description
Analysis of curriculum development and methods of aligning standards, instruction, and assessment. An instructional leader's perspective of instructional theory, curriculum development, and curriculum design methods for aligning course content to articulated goals and aligning valid and reliable assessment to the evaluation of the instructional program.

The goals of EDA 623 are to develop candidate competence in aligning content standards, instruction and assessment through curriculum mapping. Candidates will analyze and evaluate performance tasks, benchmarks, rubrics, and reporting procedures. They will learn to use authentic and alternative forms of assessing student understanding, including state and federal accountability standards, e.g., Academic Performance Index (API) and Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).
