National University Student Research Conference

SPRING SYMPOSIUM

In order to recognize the importance of student scholarly work as well as faculty contribution to student superior achievements, National University establishes a peer-reviewed Student Research Conference as an annual opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to present their research conducted under the guidance of National University Faculty. The conference is supported by the Faculty Senate, Research, Graduate and Undergraduate Councils.

The 2007 Student Research Conference is going to be the first scientific forum of students and their faculty mentors at National University. Student will present their research at a poster session at National University Spring Symposium and respond to questions with their National University mentors. The organizing committee will review, evaluate and select presentations. The best presentations will be awarded. The paper abstracts will be distributed among the University community.

Faculty are invited to have their students submit abstracts of their presentation by February 10. Accepted abstracts will be communicated by February 17. Final accepted poster is required by March 15.

Student research abstracts are invited from all schools and disciplines for this conference. In order to qualify, the following criteria must be met:

  • The abstract should be up to 150 words long
  • The presentation must be done by a student or a group of students under the guidance of a faculty member.
  • The abstracts must be submitted as email attachment using MS Word by students through their faculty mentors to the Conference Committee Chair electronically (pglukhovskiy@nu.edu).

Types of presentation that will qualify for submission:

  • A thesis or course paper based on student research submitted to an instructor for grade or in partial fulfillment of program or course requirements, provided that the poster must be complete with references inserted at appropriate places.
  • Poster based on research or art-work developed for a course, provided that the student includes a narrative of the poster or the art-work.
