SEBASTIAN, JOAN and KUTAKA-KENNEDY, JOY
Awarded a $776,000, four-year grant by the United States Department of Education to prepare highly qualified teachers who will use evidenced-based practices to serve mild/moderate and moderate/severe students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in high-need districts.  Project PEBSE: Preparing Evidence-Based Special Educators will be implemented in collaboration with eight school districts in the San Diego and San Francisco regions of California.

SMITH, DAVID
1.  Copenhagen Business School Presidential Award (Ledelsespuljen) as visiting professor and research scholar, July 2006. This is an individual grant competition in which international scholars are invited as visiting professors and research scholars at the Copenhagen Business School to teach in a special lecture series and participate as a researcher at the Center of Market Economics.

1.  National Endowment for the Humanities, Cambridge University, England, for
research and study of the seven deadly sins, summer, 2006. Work included bibliographical research, consultation with renowned international medievalists, and appointment as a Reader of Rare Books and Manuscripts at the Cambridge University Library (Prof. Majkut was accepted as a Reader of Rare Books and Manuscripts at the Huntington Library, San Marino, California, in 2005);

SUBBOTIN, IGOR
Department of Mathematics of the University of Zaragoza, Spain, invitation as visiting professor and research scholar between May 26 and June 6 of 2007. Professor Subbotin will also serve as one of the jury of the doctoral dissertation to be defended by these days.
