National University Faculty Research Conference
FALL SYMPOSIUM
Friday, September 14, 2007
9.00-12.00
The National Faculty Research Conference organized by University Research, Graduate and Undergraduate Councils together with Faculty Senate will be a university-wide peer-reviewed event for faculty to present their research accomplishments.
The topic of the conference is Scholarship and Research at National in 2006-07
The conference goals are:
- Offer a forum for National University faculty to make their research accomplishments visible to the University community
- Promote scholarship and research at National thus enhancing university-wide research culture
The organizing committee will be formed from National University and invited scholars. The committee will review, evaluate and select presentations.
The conference will be conducted in three one-hour sessions:
- Plenary session (general)
- Round table discussions
- Poster session (general)
Invited speakers (one from National University and the other from outside the university), as well as the conference chair will take up the plenary hour. Roundtable discussions on significant topics (selected by the organizing committee and facilitated by experts) will be conducted in the second hour. Posters staged in the third hour will be organized by schools with authors presenting their research to respond to questions and hold discussions.
The authors of the best papers, selected by the organizing committee, will receive awards and those papers aligned with the National University Journal (NUJ) topic will be recommended for publication in it. The NUJ will also publish the conference program and abstracts of all papers. Presentations will count towards promotions and merit.
Faculty are invited to submit proposals together with abstracts by May 1. After the Organizing Committee's review and acceptance of the proposal, faculty will submit a full paper by July 1. The paper must be presented in APA format and cannot exceed 12 pages. An abstract should be up to 150 words long and submitted on a separate page. Make submissions through email attachment using MS Word.
The proposals with abstracts and papers should be submitted to the Conference Committee Chair electronically.
