National University provides more master's degrees in all disciplines to African Americans than any other college or university in California, according to the latest edition of Diverse Issues in Higher Education

In total, National University conferred 311 master's degrees to African Americans in the 2004-2005 academic year. The 333 master's degrees earned by African Americans from National University in 2004-2005 is an increase of seven percent from the previous academic year, up from 311.

By specific disciplines, National University also ranks first in California and ninth in the nation in granting master's degrees in education to African Americans, conferring 201 such degrees during the above-mentioned period. National University also ranks first in California in granting master's degrees in psychology to African Americans, conferring 41 degrees in that category.

Diverse Issues in Higher Education publishes its annual rankings of the top 100 colleges and universities providing graduate degrees to minority students each July. The rankings are based upon data from the U.S. Department of Education.
